Storm the Riding! Ottawa Day of Action

With the federal election just around the corner, now is the time to knock and engage Ottawa voters about the importance of voting for environmental leadership in this election.

At the end of the day, the recipe for a successful grassroots campaign is simple: we need thousands of neighbour-to-neighbour conversations, thousands of petition signatures demanding environmental leadership, and a whole lot of hard work.

There are a couple of swing ridings in Ottawa where Ecology Ottawa volunteers could make a real impact. Here, because the race is close, candidates will be paying close attention to every vote. If they know that environmental concerns are shared by thousands of voters, they'll be that much more likely to take action on critical issues like climate change.

Ottawa West-Nepean is one of these swing ridings. On Saturday, September 26th, the Ottawa West-Nepean Ecology Ottawa volunteer leaders and staff are organizing an epic day of action to build momentum before the election. We’ll meet at 1 pm at Frank Ryan Park, 950 Alpine Ave. Here’s the plan for the day:

1:00-2:00 pm: Check-in, introductions, direct outreach canvass training

2:00-4:00: Having fun, interesting, and engaging conversations with key voters

4:00-5:30: Debrief and snacks! Grab some refreshments, hang out with friends, and enjoy the (hopefully) nice weather.

Please RSVP so we know how many clipboards to prepare and snacks to get. If there’s a time to help out, it’s now. It’ll be fun. I promise.

See you on the 26th!
